A 53-year-old man has appeared in court charged with abduction after an 11-year-old girl went missing in the Scottish Borders

Police launched a search for the schoolgirl after she was reported missing from Galashiels on Sunday night.Andrew Miller, also known as Amy George, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.The accused made no plea when he appeared at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday.Mr Miller is expected back in court within the next eight days.
