Andor is the last time to see Diego Luna as Cassian Andor. 'For me, this is it. It's a beautiful journey now that I have 24 episodes, 24 shorter films, to tell the story of where Cassian comes from and how he got to be the man we met in Rogue One.'
Andor star, Diego Luna, recently confirmed that his new Star Wars television series will be the last time he stars as Cassian Andor. The latest entry in the long-running science-fiction fantasy franchise will focus on Cassian, a battle-hardened spy for the Rebel Alliance who is fiercely determined to dismantle the evil Galactic Empire.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Luna first starred as Cassian in the Star Wars anthology film, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as the leader of a Rebel group on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star. At the time Rogue One premiered, many expected it would be Luna's lone appearance in the franchise, as Cassian died during the film's exciting finale.
"For me, this is it. It's a beautiful journey now that I have 24 episodes, 24 shorter films, to tell the story of where Cassian comes from and how he got to be the man we met in Rogue One." Although a movie and a two-season television series may not seem like that much time for Luna as Cassian in the Star Wars franchise when compared to major stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, by the end of it all, Luna will have a combined time of approximately 26 hours as the character. This is quite substantial when looking at other Star Wars film stars, such as Daisy Ridley who portrayed Rey in only three films.
Upon the conclusion of Andor, Cassian's story will likely be thoroughly explored as the series covers multiple years of the character's life. With the show featuring the final five years of his life just prior to the events of Rogue One, as well as flashbacks to Cassian's younger years, the series will cover nearly all of the hero's journey to becoming one of the Rebellion's most important fighters.
