On Monday, Anchorage residents woke up to a layer of snow and dangerous driving conditions.
And just like that, winter driving returns to Southcentral Alaska ANCHORAGE , Alaska - It’s been a roller coaster for weather this winter. Over the weekend, temperatures were in the 40’s in Anchorage , ushering in heavy rain.“It’s actually pretty slick out, so just be careful driving out there and drive slowly on the turns,” said Amanda, an Anchorage local.
Doug is a valley resident, but he agrees, that drivers in Anchorage need to use extreme caution on Monday. “And even with winter tires, I have been sliding all over. And so I just say go slow and keep some room ahead of you.” “I’m happy in one way because it is much more beautiful to have the white snow, but I got to admit I was kind of enjoying those roads that were sort of clear... can’t deny that.”
