A bulletin from the National Weather Service Sunday afternoon said 4 inches to 8 inches of additional accumulation was expected, with the heaviest snowfall along the Hillside, in East Anchorage and Eagle River. By early evening, driving was a challenge around the city, with slick roadways, snow piling up on many roads and blowing snow.
“The heaviest snow will shift to east Anchorage and areas along the mountains as we head into the evening hours,” the National Weather Service wrote. “Snow will taper off overnight through early Monday, lingering the longest along the mountains.”
