ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Anchorage law enforcement and public safety personnel shopped alongside children in need saturday as part of their annaul “Shop with a Hero” event. The event took place at the Walmart on Debarr road Saturday morning.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Anchorage law enforcement and public safety personnel shopped alongside children in need saturday as part of their annaul “Shop with a Hero” event. The event took place at the Walmart on Debarr road Saturday morning. Officers of the Police department, as well as FBI, Alaska State Troopers and military personnel were present. Children were paired up with an officer and given the opportunity to choose gifts and toys that were donated by Walmart.
The Anchorage International Film Festival is scheduled to hit the city Dec. 6-15, and organizers intend to make it a popular event. A new study shows deaths outnumbering births throughout Southeast Alaska, leading to a significant projected decline, while the Southwest region sees growth from larger families.
