Democratic Alliance leader John Steenhuisen says South Africa needs AGOA as it secures thousands of jobs in the country.He said,"I think it's clear that this is just one of a number of issues where the provincial government of the Western Cape; often under instruction from DA leadership [like] John Steenhuisen and Helen Zille, are taking on powers that do not exist.

"from the Western Cape would arrest President [Vladimir] Putin if he arrives for the Brics summit. Everyone knows that is a power the LEAP officers do not possess."The ANC in the Western Cape has expressed concern over Premier Alan Winde's visit to the US.
