The newly-elected Mpumalanga Treasurer has been told that he must step aside.
Acting Secretary General Paul Mashatile wrote to murder-accused Msibi, reminding him of the resolutions of the 54th national conference.
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa also raised concern over the election of accused people, and called on Mpumalanga province to reflect on its decision. In a letter to Msibi, the ANC maintains those who've been charged with corruption or other serious crimes, must step aside. Renewal of the ANC should be premised on leadership that is resolute in taking action against anyone acting at variance with the Constitution, principles and values of the organisation.
