The party said Brink's more than one year in charge of the capital city has been disastrous.
TSHWANE - The African National Congress in Tshwane says it will table a motion of no confidence in Mayor Cilliers Brink. The ANC held a media briefing in Tshwane on Friday morning to communicate outcomes from its recently held regional executive committee meeting.
“The motion follows a deterioration of the state of governance, including financial management, and a litany of misrule and a staff component that is despondent. Since June 2023, we have witnessed the rapid deterioration of governance in political oversight, management, and the financial status of the city.”“They have requested us to vote out the mayor a long time ago because of his arrogance and his treatment of black business people.
However, in a media briefing earlier on Friday, the ANC in Tshwane, said this relationship does not apply to it. In President Cyril Ramaphosa's Opening of Parliament speech on Thursday, he said parties in the GNU would also be collaborating in provincial and local governments.
