ANC provincial spokesperson Lesego Makhubela said the perceived betrayal may have led Herman Mashaba's party to join forces with the ANC at the local government level.

JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress in Gauteng believes ActionSA was betrayed by the Democratic Alliance ’s decision to abandon the Multi-party Charter for the Government of National Unity .

Makhubela said the party was shocked to see ActionSA willing to come to the table, describing Mashaba’s change of heart as a turning point. But he said the ANC is pleased to see ActionSA opening up to joining hands with other political parties other than the DA.
