Analysts cast doubt on Dr M achieving SG4 goals

Observers point to the former prime minister’s age and ask whether he is physically up to the task of drumming up foreign investment for PAS-led states.

Analysts have said the economic progress PAS-led states desire is a long-term goal that Dr Mahathir Mohamad may have trouble fulfilling.

“To attract foreign investors, he needs to go abroad more. Merely selling the Mahathir name within the country, what can they achieve?,” Jeniri said. The menteris besar of the grouping, dubbed “State-Government 4” or SG4, will discuss an action plan, with Mahathir playing an informal role, including administrative matters and relations with foreign investors.
