A board of inquiry has been set up to probe his fitness to hold office.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has issued him a notice of suspension.

Senior researcher in the Crime and Justice Programme at the Institute for Security Studies, Johan Burger said,"he must be very worried. Especially since the court decision against him found he was in breach of his duties. When a High Court and an Appeals Court find that you are in breach of your duty, that's amounts to serious misconduct. It's just a matter of formality before the inquiry come to the same conclusion... He has a lot of reasons to be worried.
