The Texans defense slowed down Derrick Henry in the second half and forced a key fumble to help beat the Titans.NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Texans were in a team meeting earlier this week preparing for the Titans when coach Lovie Smith played the clip for all the defensive players to see.
In the four minute video, you can see Henry bouncing off tacklers, stiff-arming defenders and racing to the end zone. In one part of the video, Henry jokingly asks his running backs coach, “I shook the safety?” His coach replies, “yeah, you shook him,” and Henry flashes a wide smile.“I took that personal,” Kirksey said. “I was so mad, bro.”
It was the Texans’ first win in more than two months — 76 days to be exact — and the vibe in the locker room was much different than it was in weeks past. Whereas the last few weeks have felt like a funeral, this week was celebration. Music blared in the background, and the players smiled and dapped each other up and gave each other high fives. No one cared that their record was now 2-12-1.
