After previous comments suggesting she might retire from action movies after John Wick spinoff Ballerina, star Ana de Armas sets the record straight.

Ballerina star Ana de Armas addresses her previous comments regarding potentially retiring from action movies after her role in the upcoming John Wick spinoff. Following the surprise success of the first Keanu Reeves-led installment in 2014, the John Wick franchise has exploded in popularity. It's set to get its very first spinoff with Ballerina, Len Wiseman's upcoming movie that feature de Armas as a young assassin seeking revenge for the death of her family.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT After previously suggesting that Ballerina might be her last action movie, de Armas now sets the record straight in a new interview with Extra. The star, who also had an action-heavy role in No Time To Die, reaffirms her previous comments about wanting to try new things, but does suggest that her future as an action star really depends on what projects come her way.

"We’ll see. I also want to do other kinds of films, and as much as I am enjoying this genre, I’m excited to do other things… I don’t think I can do action my entire life. It’s a lot, but I will, for sure, if the project is right.” Ana De Armas Shouldn't Stop Making Action Movies Although de Armas became a known quantity in Hollywood in movies like Knock Knock and Blade Runner 2049, it was her role as Paloma in No Time To Die that truly announced her as an actor capable of pulling off action sequences. The star had limited screen time in No Time To Die but trained hard for the role and was one of the best parts of the movie.

It's perfectly understandable why de Armas may want to challenge herself in new ways as an actor following Ballerina, but she evidently has a knack for fight choreography and selling a certain degree of physicality. Instead of committing to one genre or another, hopefully, de Armas will keep action movies in the rotation moving forward after Ballerina, showing off her dramatic chops in addition to her karate chops.
