One person who wasn’t in attendance at the 2024 Met Gala? Katy Perry. Although she always makes a statement when she hits the Met steps, the “Never Really Over” singer has not been to the Met Gala since 2022. However, for a while there on Monday night, many fans thought Perry had completely stolen the show. Turns out, it was just an internet prank.
Perry decided to lean into the joke by sharing the AI photos to her Instagram and writing, “Couldn’t make it to the MET, had to work.” She also included a screenshot of a text from her mother, who had sent Perry one of the images on Monday night, writing, “Ha Feather! Didn’t know you went to the Met 💥💥💥 What a gorgeous gown, you look like the Rose Parade, you are your own float lol.
