uGogo – the nurturer, historian, the face of discipline and the keeper of the Black household. What does ugogo wakho mean to you?
“Ngizok’ khombisa ugogo wakho” is an expression that is sometimes used by non-elderly Black people to set a boundary. It is usually in a situation in which one has experienced contempt, which may be described as “ukujwayelwa kabi”, that one threatens to show another their grandmother.
