Amy Yang, South Korea, hits from the fairway on the 16th hole during the third round of the Chevron Championship women's golf tournament at The Club at Carlton Woods on Saturday, April 22, 2023, in The Woodlands, Texas. THE WOODLANDS — Amy Yang plays well in major golf tournaments, with eight top-10 finishes combined over the LPGA Tour’s five majors.

“Like players do, major is one of my biggest goals to play well,” Yang said. “Golf courses play really tough every major, and that makes me focus more. I just enjoy being out here.”At 9 under, Yang is lurking behind Corpuz and Yin, who both shot 5 under in the third round. Occupying third with Yang are Albane Valenzuela and Megan Khang, who shot 2-under 70 on Saturday.

Yang quickly moved up the leaderboard, securing birdies on holes 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9, going out in 31 strokes. “I'm out here to win a major, and getting close a lot of times and not being able to get one is just mentally tough.” Yang said.It was a long day for Yin, one of 31 golfers who returned to the golf course at 7 a.m. Saturday to resume the second round. But the 24-year-old played stress free, compiling six birdies against a lone bogey.
