NJ Transit rail service has begun to resume after Amtrak signal issues led to suspensions on Monday during the evening rush.

North Jersey Coastline rail service has resumed in both directions between Penn Station New York and Bay Head and is subject to up to 45-minute delays.

Meanwhile, Northeast Corridor Line rail service has resumed westbound only with limited service between Trenton and New York after service was suspended in both directionsNJ TRANSIT rail tickets and passes were being cross-honored by PATH at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken and 33rd Street-NY and NJ TRANSIT bus and private carriers."I wanted to drive in. I should have listened to my instincts and drove in," commuter Janie Lee said.

The tracks are owned and operated by Amtrak, which shut down its own services as well and offered commuters a now familiar excuse."We all have to work, and we're all stuck in the city now," commuter Michael Ingino said. "I have no idea how I'll get home tonight."The most seasoned commuters shook it off. Carl McIntosh has done this commute for decades.

"It's an expectation. It really is," he said. "I would say 80% of the time the schedule is kept and I just gotta be easy with it or I go outta my mind."
