Amtrak has canceled some trains scheduled to leave Chicago on Monday due to forecast temperatures dropping below zero with wind chills reaching -15° to -25°. The Empire Builder trains to Seattle at 11:05 a.m. and 3:05 p.m., as well as the Borealis service to Minneapolis/St. Paul on those trains have been canceled. An Empire Builder train from Seattle to Chicago will operate only as far as Spokane. Metra and the CTA have not announced planned service changes for Monday.

That also means that Borealis service to Minneapolis/St. Paul on the same two trains have been canceled.An Empire Builder train scheduled to leave Seattle for Chicago on the same day will only operate from Seattle to Spokane.
