The $3.4 million expense, expected to be approved by City Council on Wednesday, is required by the current lease.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The city of Cleveland is preparing to sign off on $3.4 million in repairs to Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Cleveland has paid out for stadium repairs each of the last several years. Last year, they carried a $10 million price tag, which included another $3 million for pedestrian ramps, the decks of which have been deteriorating, DeRosa said. Future costs associated with a new lease and a potential upgrade to the stadium loomed large in the background of Wednesday’s discussion.
“We really make sure its pared down to what’s needed, so quite frankly, we don’t run out of money to make these repairs,” DeRosa said. Howse wanted a detailed list and more specifics, calling on the Browns to share more information publicly about which contractors they use, or how to become contractors, among other things. “That’s what people want to know,” she said. “A lot of this angst comes from -- people don’t feel like they get their fair share.”
