Most voters are unhappy about the prospects of former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden having a rematch in 2024.
More than 62% of Americans would be “dissatisfied” or “angry” if Biden clinched a second term in 2024, and 56% harbored the same feelings about Trump winning in 2024, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.The consensus crosses party lines with 58% of Democrats and Democrat-aligned independents preferring someone other than Biden to be the standard bearer, compared to 31% who would back him, per the poll.
Some 7% of voters were enthusiastic about Trump, compared to 17% for Biden. A sizable chunk of voters would view either a Trump or Biden victory as a negative development. About 36% would be upset if Trump wins, while 30% said the same about Biden winning.
