Valarie Allman took her place atop the discus world yet again.
The American captured her second consecutive gold medal in discus on Monday after taking home the gold three years earlier in Tokyo during the 2020 Olympics .
She bested the world’s top female discus athletes with a throw of 69.50 meters on her fourth throw, which gave her plenty of space between the eventual silver medalist, Bin Feng of China, and bronze winner, Sandra Elkasevi of Croatia — who both threw 67.51 meters.
Back in Allman’s hometown of Longmont, Colo., a watch party had been organized at her alma mater, Silver Springs High School.
