American Airlines pilot tests positive for coronavirus

The pilot is based at the airline's hub at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, a spokesman said.

American spokesman Curtis Blessing said the airline's chief medical officer and leaders in its pilots' office are in touch with the the pilot, who is based at the airline's hub at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

There have not been other publicized cases of U.S. airline pilots testing positive, though there have been reports of others in the travel industry testing positive, including"We are in close contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and public health officials and are coordinating with them on all required health and safety measures,'' Blessing said.

American's pilots are represented by the Allied Pilots Association. A spokesman did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
