–a group that has built fortunes in just about every conceivable sector, from books to beauty products to biometrics. Bolstered in part by a rebound in the stock market, they are cumulatively worth a record $124 billion, up nearly 12% from a year ago. That upswing helped lift the cutoff to make the list to $225 million, up from $215 million last year.
Love and Hendricks are two of 20 members of this year’s list who cofounded a company with their husband. Others includeDoris Fisher, who built up snowboard firm Burton with her husband Jake Burton Carpenter and now serves as chairman., a newcomer this year, cofounded packaging supplies firm Uline with her husband Richard in their basement in 1980; she is president and he is CEO of the company, which has revenues estimated at $6.1 billion.
