But the company's latest AI acquisition shows its willing to get creative to fortify its place in the rapidly growing market. AMD on Monday announced a $4.9 billion deal to purchase privately held server maker ZT Systems. The transaction, which is expected to close in 2025, is 75% in cash and the rest in stock.
