A meeting will be held at Masizakhele Stadium at Sibanye operations in Driefontein.
The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union will on Monday update its members about the ongoing workers’ strike at Sibanye-Stillwater’s gold operations.
At least 15,000 Amcu members downed tools on November 22 2018 at Driefontein, Kloof and Beatrix, Sibanye’s gold operations in South Africa, demanding higher wages after the miner signed a wage agreement with three other unions. Last week, Amcu was dealt a blow after Labour Court Judge Connie Prinsloo dismissed the union’s application for leave to appeal against the initial judgment that the union membership figures at Sibanye’s gold operations were common cause on November 22 2018.
Meanwhile, Amcu said it was optimistic that the wage dispute could be resolved through the intervention of Labour Minister Mildred Oliphant.
