Amber Heard has parted ways with her lead attorney in Johnny Depp’s defamation case, swapping her for two lawyers from the firm that recently defended The New York Times against Sarah Palin.
“This is the perfect time to pass the baton,” Bredehoft said in a statement that a Heard spokesperson provided to. “I have pledged to Amber and her appellate team my complete cooperation and assistance as they move forward on a path towards success.”
The legal teams on either side of the defamation case became as familiar as the stars at its center while the trial was in the spring. The overwhelmingly pro-Depp viewers turned content creators on TikTok and other social media cast Bredehoft as an incompetent scold, while one of Depp’s lawyers,was seen as a heroine and possible love interest for her famous client.
