Deliveroo on May 17 announced a $575 million fundraising round led by Amazon. The deal takes the UK food-delivery group’s total funds raised to date to $1.53 billion.
Sky News, which first reported the news, said the valuation implied by the latest fundraising was unclear, but that the company was being pitched at a valuation of between $3 billion and $4 billion in November.Shares in rival UK food delivery group Just Eat were down 8.1% at 630 pence by 0749 GMT on May 17. European peer Takeaway.com was down 2.8% and Delivery Hero was down 4.4%.
