Amazon Web Services said it is seeking to meet 'high demand for cloud services' in the Asia-Pacific region.
Amazon Web Services said on Wednesday it will launch an infrastructure region in Taiwan by early 2025, as it seeks to meet "high demand for cloud services" in the Asia-Pacific region.
The latest development comes a month after AWS' announcement that it will invest an additional $9 billion into Singapore over the next five years to grow its cloud infrastructure and services in the country. The new AWS region in Taiwan will enable firms to capitalize on the cloud and "build with AWS technologies like compute, storage, databases, analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence," said Prasad Kalyanaraman, vice president of infrastructure services at AWS, in a statement. The new region will consist of three availability zones at launch, adding to AWS's existing 105 availability zones across 33 geographic regions around the world, the firm said.
