Amazon’s pricing is obliterating Takealot in one particular sub-category, although it has a much smaller selection of tech products overall.
Amazon.co.za has cheaper prices than Takealot on many popular tech products, a comparison by MyBroadband shows.
Online retailers often offer better tech prices than traditional brick-and-mortar retailers as they provide products from small sellers with much lower overheads than major stores.the prices of 10 tech products and found little to separate the two retailers. Amazon.co.za was cheaper on 18 of the products and about 4.5% more affordable overall when comparing the total cost of the entire basket of 25 items.
