The incredible feat occurred in Manhattan and was captured in a viral video posted on Twitter.
“I remember I was on the sidewalk, the car came, the car hit me. I was completely under the car,” she told the news station.
According to the New York Police Department, the SUV was turning right when it hit the young woman as she was crossing a crosswalk. The Mercedes then hit another car stopped at a traffic light, causing a chain reaction that included several vehicles. Most of the damage reported was minor. First responders were at the scene soon after Veronika was pulled out to safety. She was then taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, treated for her injuries and released, NYPD told USA TODAY on Tuesday.
