There’s already a number of seasonal events on the calendar including Halloween parades, food and drink festivals and the Christmas Markets
While the days may be getting shorter and the temperature plummeting, there's plenty of things to enjoy about autumn in Greater Manchester - from walks where you can feel the crunch of leaves underfoot, to spectacular light displays and the arrival of the Christmas Markets.
Whether you want to make a day of it or just fancy squeezing in a short stroll one morning, there are dozens of places to go for a walk on our doorstep and further afield. Fletcher Moss in Didsbury is a beautiful place to head to at this time of year, while Heaton Park has more than 600 acres to explore.

Dunham Massey The lovely folk at Dunham Massey are going big on their plans for Autumn, with a host of events taking place over the next couple of months. While trying your chances at seeing some deer in the wild, there will also be a Fungi Friends family trail taking place until November 5. The show will open on Saturday November 11 and the cast will include a host of West End stars as well as a reality show favourite. It will then have an epic four month run in Manchester through to February 24, 2024. Tickets for the Manchester run have already been flying out after the tour announcement was made earlier this year which came as music to the ears of theatre fans.
Peter Kay Residency Bolton's favourite comedian Peter Kay is continuing his Better Late Than Never tour with dates across the country from now until 2025. Christmas Markets One of the biggest events to take over Manchester this autumn will be the Christmas Markets. Manchester's Christmas Markets are among the biggest in Europe, and last year boasted some 220 stalls.
