The South African U-23 team beat Angola 3-0 (6-1 on aggregate) in their 2020 Olympics qualifier to advance to the third round of the qualifying campaign by DanieMothowagae

Goals by SuperSport United duo Jamie Webber and Teboho Mokoena, as well as a late strike from Portugal-based striker Luther Singh earned coach David Notoane’s side a 6-1 aggregate victory after they won the first leg 3-1 in Luanda last Friday.

The win for South Africa confirmed a meeting with Zimbabwe in the third round where the aggregate winner will then progress to the U-23 Afcon tournament in November to decide the three nations that will represent Africa at the Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, next year. Zimbabwe beat Mozambique 2-0 in the early kick-off to book a date with with their regional neighbours when the qualifiers resume in June.
