Wednesday is Alzheimer’s and Dementia Advocacy Day at the Alabama State House

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - to show support for a bill that would work to close some gaps in care around the state.

House Bill 461 would establish a Dementia State Coordinator position under the Department of Senior Services. If this position is approved, the person who fills it would be responsible for coordinating work groups and task forces to regularly update the state’s Alzheimer’s Disease Plan and ensure that it is executed effectively.

Wednesday, more than 70 volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association and Alzheimer’s Impact Movement will be at the state house to share their stories with lawmakers and how this piece of legislation could improve the lives of people in Alabama who are living with Alzheimer’s and the people who care for them.
