It’s hard to imagine the Disney Channel series 'Hannah Montana' without Miley Cyrus, but the popular children's TV channel originally offered the role to Aly Michalka

When the Disney Channel series premiered in March 2006, the popular TV network introduced audiences to then-13-year-old “Gary — who was the head of the Channel — was like, ‘This pilot has come in, and we think that you’re really perfect for it,’” Michalka recalled during a Wednesday, Jan. 8,Actress and Grammy-winning music artist Miley Cyrus portrayed Miley Stewart, a teen living a secret double life as pop star Hannah Montana in the hit Disney Channel TV series of the same name.
“I was close to maybe being 17 at that point,” she said. “I remember thinking I’ve kind of done what I wanted to do on the channel.”
