Executive producer Cary Wayne Moore of Alvin checks to see if the day's shooting of"The Integrity of Joseph Chambers"is finished as actor Clayne Crawford takes a break.On Friday, Feb. 24, “The Integrity of Joseph Chambers,” a drama whose executive producer is Alvin resident Cary Wayne Moore, will get its local premiere atThe screening will begin at 6 p.m. that day and will serve as a benefit for the Alvin ISD theater program.
“The Integrity of Joseph Chambers” stars Clayne Crawford as an insurance salesman who wants to acquire the skills to take care of his family in case of an apocalypse. To that end, he heads off into the woods to go hunting.The film also stars Jordana Brewster, Carl Kennedy, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Michael Raymond-James. It was directed by Robert Machoian.
Aside from the premier and benefit aspects of the evening, Moore said he also aims to promote small, independent theaters“Ultimately, the idea is to bring life back into small-town theaters,” he said. “As difficult as it is to be an independent movie producer, it’s equally, if not more difficult, for small-town theaters.Moore grew up in Alvin and graduated from Alvin High School in 1993. Afterward, he attended University of Houston-Downtown and studied architecture.
Finding himself needing a fine arts elective, he took an acting class. After appearing in several plays, he moved to Los Angeles in 2000 and found work in a variety of movies and television shows, eventually moving to the other side of the camera. “I started leaning toward producing so I could work on my own projects, as opposed to auditioning for a part and hoping somebody wants to pick me,” Moore said.“The producer makes it all happen,” he said. “They put the puzzle pieces together. They find a project, then put the talent together. Once you get financing, you start scouting locations and then put together the rest of the cast and crew.”“During the pandemic, I decided it would be the best time to leave L.A.
