Man United are assessing their options at left-back following an injury to Luke Shaw.
Manchester United's preparations for Saturday's clash with Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford have been rocked by an injury to star left-back Luke Shaw.
United's announcement confirming Shaw's injury arrived just hours after the club confirmed the departure of fellow left-back Brandon Williams, who sealed a move to Championship side Ipswich Town. He has joined the Tractor Boys on a season-long loan deal. He earned regular plaudits from the North End faithful, as well as United supporters who kept a close eye on his progress at Deepdale. Despite the success of last season's loan spell, it has not been enough to bag himself a spot in either of United's opening two matchday squads this season.
Should that prove to be the case, the Spaniard has already shown that he is ready to make the step up to the first-team squad and attempt to make a name for himself at Old Trafford. "Hopefully I can stay in the United first team," he said at the end of June. "If it doesn’t happen and I have to go out on loan, then keep working hard and keep growing. I am 20 years old and what I want is to play. But if it can be at United, much better.
