Piastri's situation is oddly similar to IndyCar driver Alex Palou's. Last month, Chip Ganassi Racing tweeted that the driver would stick with the team for 2023. Hours later, Palou said this wasn't the case, and shortly after McLaren announced that Palou would be part of its driver lineup in 2023, though it didn't specify where he'd drive.
