Lenferna highlighted that solutions such as solar- and wind-generated power, as well as battery storage, were more affordable in the current energy landscape. He said: Yelland also addressed concerns about the potential revenue loss for Eskom due to people transitioning to self-generated power. He emphasised that Eskom was already experiencing financial difficulties, so having fewer people drawing from the grid, thereby reducing the need for load shedding, would not significantly impact the utility's financial situation.
