The Uvalde Foundation For Kids says it will be presenting the officer with its National Hero Award for Bravery and Dedication to Duty. 'It is not lost on us the heartbreak behind those who lost their lives,' says National Director Daniel Chapin in a statement posted over the weekend. 'It is also not lost on us how many more could have been had this officer not ran toward the threat and ended it.' The Uvalde Foundation for Kids is based in Dallas and was formed in response to the massacre last year at Robb Elementary School, in which 19 kids and two teachers were killed.
