Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and quarterback Josh Allen embrace following Buffalo's 21-17 win against the Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, in Orchard Park. Those feelings are mutual — even with Daboll now in his second season as head coach of the New York Giants. The two meet again Sunday night in Orchard Park — this time, though, on different sidelines.
"Dap him up, give him a big old hug," Allen said. "He's meant so much to me in my football career — and in my life, for that matter. Excited to see him."Daboll was by Allen's side for the first four years of the quarterback's career. Allen said he spent a lot of time in those years with Daboll. "In terms of my path of my career and getting better, he was probably the most influential one," Allen said."Put on any tape, he's exceptional at everything," Daboll said. "He can run, but he can throw it — and he can throw it wherever he needs to throw it. Eighty yards down the field, drop a dime. On the move to the right, put it back across his body. Scramble back up, scramble around, throw it out, throw it on time. He makes you better as a play caller too.
Allen said he still talks to Daboll almost every other week. It's usually via Facetime, and the conversation usually goes something like, "What's up? Miss ya. Bye." They'll have a face-to-face conversation Sunday night in Orchard Park. Kickoff between the Bills and Giants is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. Sunday. For complete Bills coverage, visit the
