THE US$681 million that made its way into Najib Razak’s account was one of the mainstays of the defence stage in the SRC International trial, which ended today after three months of courtroom drama. The money, which was deposited into Najib’s personal bank account in 2013, is the subject of another ongoing 1Malaysia Development Bhd trial, but defence lawyers have instead put forth their argument in the SRC International trial that the money was a legitimate donation from Saudi Arabia.
