A murder suspect died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in a sedan while being followed by police along I-580 in San Leandro, authorities said.
The person who died in the sedan had allegedly killed a woman in a Pleasanton residence on Thursday morning, police there said.The unidentified suspect had shot a woman multiple times in a Saginaw Circle home before heading off on the freeway, according to Pleasanton police. The victim has not been identified either. The suspect's car "became disabled" while being followed by an unmarked Pleasanton police car, authorities said.
Ledletter said he heard the police yell "Come out with your hands up!" and the sound of gunfire. Witnesses said they saw a robot first to check on the suspect."I think they were like warning shots to just break the window," said Ledletter."Officers noticed that there was no movement from inside the vehicle while attempting to communicate with the suspect," police said in a statement.
