Jacinta Allan has defended Labor's housing strategy during her first Question Time as Victorian Premier after being pressed by the opposition on land tax.

Ms Allan was quizzed on Tuesday by Opposition Leader John Pesutto about earlier remarks Treasurer Tim Pallas made at a property industry breakfast.

The Premier responded:"Of course I was aware of what the Treasurer was bringing to the parliament this week… because this has gone through cabinet".
