BREAKING: All traffic stopped with heavy congestion on M66 due to crash
All traffic has been stopped on the M66 this evening following a crash. There is heavy congestion as the northbound carriageway was closed by the emergency services.
The busy motorway is shut off between the M60/M62 and J3 due to what National Highways have described as a multi vehicle collision. Pictures from the scene show a huge line of traffic following the crash, with emergency services currently on the scene. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene providing assistance with traffic management.Greater Manchester Police and the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for further details.
