Although Obi-Wan Kenobi was initially billed as a limited series, multiple hints have been dropped that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are returning to Star Wars soon, either in a surprise season 2 of that show or in an entirely unknown project. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are both among Star Wars' best characters and, together, they comprise one of Star Wars' best duos. McGregor and Christen have both therefore become incredibly beloved in the franchise.
In a September interview with Variety, Ewan McGregor spoke about his hopes for season 2 of the show, directly expressing interest in continuing the story. McGregor stated: Posts Hayden Christensen Revealed There's "Some Stuff Brewing" Christensen's Comments Suggest His Return Is Imminent Close McGregor isn't the only Obi-Wan Kenobi star who has recently dropped hints that a second season of the show could be coming. Hayden Christensen has said that Star Wars has "some stuff brewing," specifically in reference to Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen having another on-screen reunion.
✕ Remove Ads McGregor also specifically mentioned this younger version of Obi-Wan allowing McGregor and Christensen to really come back together. Combined, McGregor's comments suggest a major Clone Wars arc could be coming involving Anakin and Obi-Wan. This could even include young Ahsoka, in light of Ariana Greenblatt's performance in Ahsoka.
“But I think if there's huge engagement and people really want more Obi-Wan , we’ll certainly give that consideration because the fans, they speak to us.... And if we feel like, ‘OK, there’s a real reason to do this; it's answering the why then,’ then we’ll do it. But we’ll see.” Of course, this could very easily be seen as little more than a joke or a lighthearted remark, but in light of everything else that has been said about Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, that comment is beginning to carry a lot more weight.
Not only did Chow repeat the sentiment to "never say never" about Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, but also, it's clear that McGregor truly did have ideas for continuing the story, even then.
