All 7 shots aimed at Jacob Blake’s back were fired by Officer Rusten Sheskey, according to the police

, one of the most detailed to date from police, comes as Kenosha continues to be gripped by demonstrations following the shooting, protests that lead to two deaths on Tuesday when an Illinois teen opened fire with a Smith & Wesson AR-15 style .223 rifle.

The report repeated the department’s earlier statement that officers were sent to a home in the 2800 block of 40th Street after a “female caller reported that her boyfriend was present and was not supposed to be on the premises.” While trying to arrest Blake, 29, who can be seen on video walking toward the driver’s side door of a vehicle, Sheskey and Officer Vincent Arenas each used tasers, but neither stopped Blake from trying to walk away ; Blake opened the driver’s side door, and leaned forward.

“While holding onto Mr. Blake’s shirt, Officer Rusten Sheskey fired his service weapon 7 times,” the report said adding, that “Sheskey fired the weapon into Mr. Blake’s back; no other officer fired their weapon; Kenosha Police Department does not have body cameras, therefore the officers were not wearing body cameras.”

The report does not say why officers were trying to arrest Blake, however it noted that police later found a knife inside the car but did not say if Sheskey knew about the knife when he opened fire; Blake’s father has complained that Blake has been handcuffed to his hospital bed, according to the
