Star Wars lives and breathes through the scores of John Williams, and while each Star Wars soundtrack is phenomenal, some rank higher than others.
Star Wars would not be Star Wars without the music of John Williams, making it nearly impossible to rank all of his scores from worst to best. His grand orchestral symphonies and incredibly memorable tracks give Star Wars a unique style that no other movie franchise can replicate . Each Star Wars soundtrack gives audiences a chance to experience Williams' musical approach all over again while still hearing something entirely new.
8 Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones features some of Williams' most beautiful compositions in the entire franchise, namely "Across the Stars" which plays throughout Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala's love story. The speeder chase on Coruscant, Obi-Wan Kenobi's arrival on Kamino, Ob-Wan vs. Jango Fett, and the arena battle are some of the score's other standouts.
6 Return Of The Jedi Return of the Jedi's best John Williams tracks are among the greatest Star Wars musical themes, but the score can also be a mixed bag depending on the version of the film being watched. The special edition created an awful new number called "Jedi Rocks" for Jabba's Palace, and the memorable "Yub Nub" was replaced by new music.
4 Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker The film itself may have had a mixed reception, but Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's score is the best of the sequel trilogy. The soundtrack contains memorable new themes, complements the action from beginning to end, and includes iconic tracks from the other Star Wars movies. Recycling music is often a problem in Star Wars movies, but it feels more appropriate for the last entry in the Skywalker saga.
