Living in the 1920s in Montana certainly was not easy, and this generation of the Dutton family in 1923 underwent many obstacles, including droughts, Prohibition, sheepherders, the early stages of the Great Depression, and many other societal and economic issues. Their story will continue when 1923 season 2 is released. The cast and crew began filming the second season in early July 2024 and production is expected to last until September.
Given that the upcoming prequel will be set just 15 years before John III's birth, it's plausible that the baby version of Kevin Costner's character could make an appearance. Nothing has been confirmed, though, and it seems like Sheridan and the other Yellowstone producers have their sights set on other spinoffs taking place in this universe.
