Morita's background before The Karate Kid was in comedy, and this is evident when watching his character in Blunt Movie. Though Mr. Miyagi was certainly funny, his wisdom and composure led the way. Mr. Miyami is a different story. Though he looked, dressed, and talked like Miyagi, Miyami seemed to have an obsession with smoking marijuana, with the running joke being that this was the reason for his chill and sage demeanor.
