Algerians living in Paris join protests against Bouteflika seeking a fifth term in office

Abdelghani Zaalane spoke in televised comments after submitting Bouteflika's official election papers confirming he will seek re-election next month.The ailing leader vowed in a letter read out on air to organise a "national conference" that would set a date for early polls in which he would not take part.Hundreds of students took part in new protests on Sunday in Algiers and other cities against a fifth term for ailing President Bouteflika who registered for April elections.
Hundreds more held rallies at campuses across Algiers, including at the Faculty of Law near the headquarters of the Constitutional Council where candidates registered for the presidential race, a student said.
